Intro to Urban Sketching

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll have a go at creating a loose pen and wash sketch using watercolour, inspired by reference photos.

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process — starting with a light pencil outline, then adding line with an artist’s pen, and finally building colour and atmosphere with watercolour to create a simplified, impressionistic sketch. The focus is on capturing the feel of a place rather than perfect detail.

Christina will share gentle tips on simplifying complex scenes, composition, and letting go of perfection, making this an ideal workshop for beginners or anyone wanting to loosen up their drawing style.
