About the event
Join us for a scenic medium-grade bushwalk loop starting and finishing at Banksia Picnic Area. This walk combines the Cabbage Tree Track and Stoney Creek Track into one beautiful circuit, offering a mix of rocky ridgelines, shady gullies, and lush palm groves.
We’ll begin by heading downhill through rocky outcrops, following the northern slopes of the ridge through dry forest before arriving at a stunning grove of Cabbage Palms. As we loop back toward Banksia Picnic Area, delicate ferns appear, gradually giving way to rugged sandstone ridges.
From there, we’ll link onto Stoney Creek Track, descending toward the creek and following it upstream through cool gully rainforest. Expect picturesque rocky creeks, dappled shade, and that peaceful “deep bush” feeling before the track climbs gently back up through palms to rejoin the Cabbage Tree Track and complete the loop.
Distance: approx. 3.6 km return
Grade: Medium
Terrain: Rocky sections, uneven tracks, some uphill and downhill walking
